ShawnLee Construction of Plainville, MA donated four days of labor by its professional
crews to set up forms for the foundation and to do the initial framing and decking for
our Plainville project. This has saved Old Colony weeks of volunteer labor and greatly
accelerated the project. Deep thanks to ShawnLee! View slide show
July 22, 2006: Thanks to a large group from Rolls Royce Naval Marine in Walpole and a crew from Bryant
Construction, we got the whole house shingled, wrapped and strapped before the rain came in.

July 29, 2006: A large group of volunteers from Ben Franklin Bank, the Original Congregational Church of Wrentham, and our regulars worked a long, hot day to get the house wrapped, most of the interior walls framed, and to pour footings for lolly columns to support the main beams. Many thanks to Gloria Feldhusen and Marcia Weidner for providing a delicious lunch. By all, a tough job well done! View slide show
August 5, 2006 - Rolls Royce Naval Marine and Bryant Construction rejoined us, along with some regulars and Bostin Latin School on a beautiful day for work after all the hot weather we've been suffering. We got lolly columns erected, interior framing almost completed, and installed soffit, starter strips for siding, and weather barrier around windows and doors. Next week - windows, doors, and siding! August 11, 2006 - A great build day thanks to a wonderful team from Putnam Investments' Boston office. Putnam has been a major contributor to this project, donating $30,000 through its Local Initiatives Grants program, and supporting the Hike for Humanity held last May. Their employees took a Friday out of the office to install all the windows, the back door, siding on two sides of the house, and to do some interior framing. G & C Plumbing also installed most of the water supply lines and the bathtub today. At this rate we're going to finish the project ahead of schedule! View slide show
